The Lady In White or A Closer Look At Joy

Finally after months of looking at the ragged and torn old dark blue canvas covers on the S/V Take Five she has now been cleaned up for the dance. The cost of Sunbrella is just crazy. The Manufacturer knows it has a great product and they show it in the pricing. But I got lucky and found a seven yard roll on Ebay for half price and jumped on it. That is why I recently replaced and corrected the old lazy jack system so the the new sail cover would fit right. I actually was able to make line bags and winch covers also and not a single usable piece left over. Now I just need one small piece for the dinghy motor cover and she will be done. And yes, as Carol said, it is a nice clean look. Just what I wanted.

I even solved a long time problem of keeping the tiller in place with a cover on it. Just and engineering marvel. :)

The S/V Joy will soon get a new jib furling system, the Harken ESP Unit 1, so I took a quick climb up the mast to check out the hardware and sizes. What a difference it will be when I get it installed.
This boat is a Chuck Paine 30' double ender in case you may be wondering. It is Cutter rigged.
