Ok kids, grab your favorite beverage or snack and sit back and watch all the combined video clips for the past six weeks at the Wonderland Claim in Teller County, Colorado.

Chipmunks are a great source of entertainment in the mountains. Like all other animals they have some funny and unique habits. One thing that amazed me was the types of flowers and mushrooms they like to eat. Some of the mushrooms if ate by humans would not be good.

Rain, sleet or snow can come literally anytime in the mountains. While a pain in the ass and a work stopper, they are usually a lot of fun just to watch as they pass over. This storm really dumped on the camp. (click on photo for more rain photos)

No, you don't find Smokey Quartz crystals popping out of the ground like this but I thought it made a cool photo....hell, I had to find something to do with my down time. :)

One of my favorite foods forever, cornbread, never head to the mountains without the fixins.

All things considered it was a great six weeks up at the claim. The season is officially over for me. I will admit that I am somewhat disappointed with the years results. While I did find what I was looking for, Smokey Quartz, Amazonite and combinations of both, the quality was not as nice as I had hoped for. But this was the first year and like my buddy Scott keeps pounding in my head, I need to stay optimistic. And I am, next year will be better. I learned a whole lot of stuff this year that I did wrong and will be able to avoid those pitfalls next year and as a result not waste the precious valuable time that the Rockies allow you each year. Next year will be good.

(note: I am still working on the beautiful Smokey Quartz Crystals that came out of the "Wonderlust" pocket. Hope to post some photos and videos in the next couple of days.)
