Hurrican Matthew Batters The Undisclosed Location on Wilmington Island, Georgia

I rode out Hurricane Wilma when it raced across the state of Florida and came in Ft. Pierce's back door. It was frightening as hell to say the least. I told myself then that I would never do that again. So when Hurricane Matthew started its crawl up the east coast I didn't sense the true danger it was bringing. Don't ask me what I was thinking.
I was originally just going to park the truck and ride it out in my truck. Stupid? Yes !!
At the "Undisclosed Location" where a friend told me I could have out during the storm it was twice as bad as Wilma was. I really didn't think the poor little house was going to make it. As it turned out when hell walked on up the coast both of the houses on the property were spared major damage. There were at least seven major old growth oak trees that fell. Any one of which could have devastated either dwelling. One tree did catch the corner of the "Undisclosed Location" but just minor damage.
One day I will learn.......maybe. :)

Water was within six inches of coming into the house because of tidal surge:
